The Toad And The Princess

Many, many years ago there lived a princess who loved gold objects. Her favorite toy was a solid gold ball. On hot days, he liked to sit by an old well to play with the golden ball. One day the ball fell into the well. So deep was this that the princess couldn't see the bottom.

"Oh, what sadness!" I lost her, ”lamented the princess, and began to cry.

Suddenly, the princess heard a voice.

What's up, beautiful princess? Why are you crying?

The princess looked everywhere, but saw no one.

"Down here specifically the voice."

The princess looked down and saw a frog emerging from the water.

"Ah, little frog detects the princess." If you are interested to know, I am sad because my gold ball fell into the well.

"We could get the frog out." But you should give me something in return.

The princess suggested the following:

What do you think of my pearls and my jewelry? Or maybe my gold crown.

And what can I do with a crown? The frog suffered. But I help you find the ball if you promise to be my best friend.

"I would go to your castle for dinner and spend the night once in a while," suggested the frog.

Although the princess thought they were very dumb with the frog, she agreed to be his best friend.

Immediately, the frog got into the well and soon came out with the golden ball in its mouth.

The frog left the golden ball at the princess's feet. She recovered quickly and, without thanking him, ran to the castle.

-Wait! The frog told him. I can't run that fast!

But the princess paid no attention to him.

The princess completely forgot about the frog. The next day, when he was dining with the royal family, he heard a rather strange sound on the marble stairs of the palace.

Then he heard a voice that said:

"Princess, open the door."

Full of curiosity, the princess will be seen when opening. However, seeing the frog all wet, he closed the door in his face. The king understood that something strange was happening and considered:

Did any giant come looking for you?

"It's just a frog," she replied.

And what does that frog want? "Asked the king.

While the princess explained everything to her father, the frog kept knocking on the door.

"Let me in, princess," the frog pleaded. Don't you remember what you promised me at the well anymore?

Then the king said to him:

"Child, if you made a promise, you must keep it." Let her in.

Reluctantly, the princess opened the door. The frog followed her to the table and asked:

"Put me in the chair next to you."

"But what did he believe you?"

At that moment, the king looked sternly at his daughter and she had to agree. Since the chair was not high enough, the frog asked the princess to raise it to the table. Once there, the frog said:

"Bring me your plate, to eat with you."

The princess brought the plate closer to the frog, but she completely lost her appetite. Once the frog was satisfied, he said:

"Take her to your room." It is not okay to turn your back on someone who helped you out in a time of need.

With no other alternative, the princess proceeded to pick up the frog slowly, with just two fingers. When he got to his room, he put it in a corner. Before long, the frog leaped onto the side of the bed.

"I'm tired too," said the frog. Get me on the bed or I'll tell your father.

The princess had no choice but to climb the frog onto the bed and place her on the fluffy pillows.

When the princess got into bed, she found to her surprise that the frog was sobbing silently.

"What's the matter with you now?" -I ask.

"I just wished you were my friend," said the frog. But it is obvious that you want nothing to know about me. I think it would be best if I went back to the well.

These words softened the princess's heart. The princess sat on the bed and said to the frog in a sweet tone:

-Do not Cry. I will be your friend.

To show her that she was sincere, the princess kissed him good night.

Immediately, the frog became a handsome prince! The princess was as surprised as she was pleased.

The princess and the prince started a beautiful friendship. After a few years, they got married and were very happy.
